Gulf intelligence agencies fear Iran will create “dirty bombs” from enriched uranium

The Kan news service reported that a joint meeting of Gulf intelligence agencies raised concerns that Iran could create several tactical “dirty bombs” from the enriched uranium it will have after the war ends.

A dirty bomb combines conventional explosives with radioactive materials. It does not cause a nuclear explosion, but it can cause panic and cause serious economic and psychological damage. Its main danger is that the explosion can disperse radioactive substances throughout the area.

Gulf intelligence officials fear Trump could reach a ceasefire with Iran without addressing the issue of enriched uranium stockpiled by Tehran, according to people familiar with the region. This, in their opinion, will give Iran an “unconventional advantage” over neighboring states.
