BIRODI: REM did not react to the fact that Vučić ended the election campaign by coming out of the refrigerator on TV Pink
The Bureau of Social Research (BIRODI) announced today that the Regulatory Body for Electronic Media (REM) in its report on reporting during the election campaign omitted to indicate the use of public functions during the campaign headed by, according to REM, the most represented public official, the President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić.

BIRODI states in a statement that REM did not react to the fact that the President of Serbia, as a candidate for a new term, filmed a video in which he comes out of the refrigerator, as well as that he ended his election campaign on Pink TV by coming out of the refrigerator, which, according to their assessment, showed his media savvy. dominance, which was often the result of activities that are not in accordance with the constitutional and legal powers of the president.”In its report, REM presented data on the representation of public officials in such a way that it only presented their presence (total time and percentage representation) at the level of tables at the level of monitored televisions, but not the tonality of the presentation as defined by the OSCE guide for media monitoring which was cited by REM as a source for developing its methodology. Also, REM omitted to show how many public officials were present in central news programs (diaries) as the most watched news programs,” BIRODI said in a statement.

They added that the results of REM monitoring show that during the monitoring period, the Serbian president had the largest share of presence on Pink TV, as well as that REM did not indicate in any part of its report the presence of public officials, especially the president, who is also a candidate for the new presidential mandate. “which puts him in a privileged position compared to the other candidates, and makes the election process itself unfair”.

BIRODI states that Vučić was present 56 percent of the total time that REM monitored on Pink TV, while Vučić was present for 16.6 percent of the total time monitored on the public service, RTS.

The president was present on Happy television 13.3 percent, on Prva television 31 percent, and on B92 17.3 percent.
