The USA claims that it has deprived Suleimani’s relatives of their residence rights. Iran denies their connection

The niece of the deceased Major-General of Iran’s Quds Force Qassem Suleimani and his daughter have been deprived of the right to permanent residence in the United States, the United States Department of State announced.

Soleimani led the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ external wing from 1998 until his assassination by the US military in 2020, during the first term of Trump’s presidency.

According to the Ministry of State, Hamide Suleimani Afshar was arrested with her daughter on the night of April 3. The women will be held by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement pending a final decision on whether they should leave US territory.

Citing social media posts, the agency described Suleimani Afshar as “an undisguised supporter of Iran’s terrorist and totalitarian regime.”

The American authorities did not clarify what kind of publications we are talking about, but emphasized that such rhetoric will not be tolerated during the administration of US President Donald Trump.

The US Secretary of State made a note about this in X. “The Trump administration will not allow our country to become a haven for foreigners who support anti-American terrorist regimes,” said Marco Rubio.

However, the statement of Kasem Suleimani’s daughter, Zeinab Suleimani, was circulated in the Iranian media, according to which the women arrested in the USA have no connection with her father.

“The persons arrested in the United States have nothing to do with the martyr Suleimani, and the statement of the US State Department is false,” said Zeinab Suleimani.

The arrest of the two women comes amid a five-week war between the US and Israel against Iran.
