Trump announces night of destruction in Tehran

Trump made the announcement on his network, Truth Social, where he also posted aerial video of the attacks, showing large explosions overnight. The images are dark, but it is possible to hear the roar of aircraft flying over the city and the boom of explosions.

“Many of Iran’s military leaders — who led the country recklessly and wrongly — were eliminated, along with many more, in this massive attack on Tehran!”

The American president did not give further details about the exact moment, size or executors of the offensive. To date, there is no independent confirmation on the number of deaths or the specific targets hit.

Tehran rejects ultimatum and threatens to “open the gates of hell”

Before the attack was announced, Donald Trump had given Iran a 48-hour deadline to reopen the Strait of Hormuz or reach an agreement — under penalty of destroying the country’s vital infrastructure.

But Iran’s central military command rejected the threat. General Ali Abdollahi Aliabadi, from the Armed Forces’ operational headquarters, classified Trump’s stance as “an impotent, nervous, unbalanced and stupid action.”

In an official statement, Aliabadi went further and made it clear that any new attack will result in direct reprisals against US and Israeli infrastructure. “Since the beginning of the war, everything we said, we still say. And the simple meaning of this message is: the gates of hell will open for you,” he said.
