Russian forces have reported the shooting down of a drone early on Saturday over the main building of the fleet in the Black Sea, in Sevastopol, with no evidence of personal injury.

Crimean Governor Sergei Aksionov has confirmed the activation of anti-aircraft defenses in the western area. “The target was destroyed without casualties or damage,” he said on social networks, in a message in which he also called for the calm of the population, according to the TASS agency.

For his part, the administrative head of Sevastopol, Mijail Razvozhayev, has reported on Telegram the shooting down of a drone, whose remains have fallen on the roof of the building that houses the headquarters of the Russian fleet. Razvozhayev has blamed the alleged attack on Ukrainian forces.

Ukraine remains silent after the increase in attacks on the Crimean peninsula, controlled by Russia since 2014. This week, an ammunition depot in this area exploded and a drone was shot down over the city of Kerch, according to Russian authorities.
