“Charlatans, if not worse”: Trump threatens prosecution for materials about details of the agreement with Iran

US President Donald Trump published a post on the Truth Social network in which he threatened a federal investigation into media outlets disseminating unconfirmed information about the progress of the negotiations. Separately, he singled out the CNN television channel, which takes a critical position in relation to him.

“People who have nothing to do with the US-Iran negotiations are sending numerous agreements, lists and letters. In many cases, these are scammers and charlatans, or worse. A federal investigation will bring them to clean water,” he said.

He noted that there is only one list of items acceptable to the United States, and it is this list that is discussed behind closed doors: “It is the basis of the ceasefire agreement. The rest is Fake news, like yesterday’s CNN report quoting a “source” who had no authority.”
