UN experts condemn Israel’s attacks on Lebanon

Experts of the UN Human Rights Council condemned Israel’s airstrikes in Lebanon in early April, calling them “illegal aggression and an indiscriminate bombing campaign.”

“This is not self-defense. This is a clear violation of the UN Charter, a deliberate destruction of peace prospects and an attack on the international order based on the UN,” the message said.

On April 8, Israel carried out its heaviest strikes on Lebanon in months, killing more than 250 people.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that Lebanon was not included in the US-Iran two-week ceasefire.
