Plenković attacked the opposition after the drama at the Committee on the Constitution! ‘They block the choice all the time…’

– I don’t know who left the session. The matter is very simple. We proposed two candidates who are professional and competent. They have nothing to do with politics. They insisted on Selanac. Those three candidates would complete this topic and fill in the question of judges of the Constitutional Court. We agreed. Our position is constructive – said Plenković and continued:

– The non-election of the three remaining judges after the talks conducted by Malenica and Đujić in Turkey last week, one hundred percent puts the onus of responsibility on the opposition. I was expecting the Prime Minister at the session. It happened for the seventh time that the ruling majority obstructed the election of the president of the Supreme Court by not appearing at the Committee on the Constitution and after that you came out with two names and said that these are your candidates, we believe that the conditions have not been met to decide on these candidates and we will not participate in that – said Đuji, who then with Sandrom Benčić i by Mihael Zmajlov left the session.

– It is unconstitutional for us to combine those two processes. We want three high-quality judges who will protect the interests of Croatian citizens, regardless of their ideological beliefs. We are against ultimatums, blackmail and political trade – said Đuji, writes N1.

HDZ-ov Josip Borić he stated that the opposition is running away from its own responsibility.

– Today we heard from them that they did not want to participate at all. They have not said anything about any of the candidates who have gone public. I think this was a very bad move by the representatives of the opposition representatives in this committee and it shows that they are exclusive and that they do not want any agreement – said Bori.

I HDZ-ov Ante Sanader is of the opinion that the opposition is politicizing this topic. He also said that the committee must do its part and propose candidates.

– The key is that no one has any objections to the candidates who have been proposed, that they are acceptable, that they are professionals and that they are not political, and that is the most important thing, and all the arguments of the opposition have been rejected and now they are looking for a reason to stop it in another way. So for this committee, that story is over – said Sanader.
