London, Jews stabbed in front of the synagogue

Two Orthodox Jews were stabbed today, Wednesday 29 April, outside a synagogue in Golders Green, a north London suburb. This was reported by various Israeli media such as the Times of Israel. According to Shomrim, a security organization for the Jewish community, the volunteers intervened immediately and managed to stop and detain the suspect until the police arrived.

The agents – reports the BBC – therefore used a taser to immobilize the man, who was arrested. The victims are receiving medical treatment from the Hatzola relief organization. The area had already been the scene of tension in recent weeks, when Hatzola’s own ambulances were set on fire near the site of today’s attack.
