US Marines boarded a ship suspected of violating the Iran blockade

U.S. Central Command said U.S. Marines boarded the container ship Blue Star III in the Arabian Sea on April 28 amid suspicions that it intended to breach a naval blockade of Iran.

“After inspection and verification that the route did not include entry into Iranian ports, the vessel was allowed to continue its journey,” CENTCOM said in a statement. A video of American soldiers landing on a container ship from a helicopter is also published.

“US forces continue to enforce the blockade in the Middle East. To date, 39 vessels have been redirected to support it,” Central Command notes.
