The US prevents the passage of 127 ships in the Strait of Hormuz since the beginning of the blockade of Iranian ports

The United States Army indicated this Thursday that it has prevented the passage of 127 merchant ships through the Strait of Hormuz while it has allowed the crossing of 36 vessels containing humanitarian aid, in what is already more than six weeks of a perimeter closure of the area announced by the US president, Donald Trump, in full contacts to end the conflict.

The United States Army Central Command (CENTCOM) has indicated on its social networks that “as of June 4, US forces have diverted 127 merchant ships, immobilized six ships that did not comply with regulations and allowed passage to 36 ships carrying humanitarian aid.”

The tension in the Hormuz Pass remains latent despite the indefinite truce in force. Despite the fact that the US Government confirmed last Thursday an agreement in principle with Iran to extend the truce for two more months and guarantee passage through the area, Washington continues to impose sanctions against ships and entities for their links to the Iranian oil trade in an attempt to maintain pressure on Tehran.
