Lebanon condemns Iranian strikes on Kuwait and Bahrain

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun condemned Iranian strikes on civilian targets in Kuwait and Bahrain, calling them a violation of sovereignty and international law. “I hope that the region will avoid their consequences by preventing escalation,” he said on social networks.

The Gulf Cooperation Council also condemned the strike. “Iranian aggression does not stop. The attack on civilian targets is a dangerous and unprecedented escalation, reflecting the Iranian regime’s hostility to the security, stability and sovereignty of the Council states,” said its Secretary General Jassem Muhammad al-Budawi.

Iran’s charge d’affaires in Kuwait was summoned to the Foreign Ministry and was informed that two Iranian diplomats had been declared persona non grata in response to the strike.

Kuwait’s Ministry of Defense reported intercepting 13 missiles and 17 unmanned aerial vehicles. The Iranian strike killed one person and injured 63.
