The plane that Trump received from Qatar was revealed: “the most luxurious in the world”

Trump inaugurated the new presidential plane in a special hangar: “unseen construction” • The plane’s exterior is painted in the colors of the American flag • During the launch ceremony, Trump thanked Netanyahu – and also the heads of the Gulf states

President of the United States Donald Trump unveiled last night (Friday) the luxury plane that the Americans received as a gift from Qatar. It is a Boeing 747-8 worth 400 million dollars that will serve as the new Air Force One. “It is considered the most luxurious plane in the world, it was built at a level that will not be seen again,” said the president.

In the solemn ceremony held at Andrews Base, a military base outside Washington that has been used as a presidential airport for decades, Trump descended from the steps of the giant plane. The president added that the hangar where the plane was inaugurated had to be specially built to house it.

During the ceremony, Trump did not forget the security events and the signing of the memorandum of understanding with Iran. He thanked Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for fighting together, and even claimed that he “deserves credit” for his performance in the war. Trump also thanked the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and the President of the United Arab Emirates Mohammed bin Zayed, Kuwait, Bahrain – and of course the Emir of Qatar.

The training the pilots went through – and the new colors that Trump liked

The US Air Force said that the plane will begin operating flights, which will be the final test before flying the president. Trump, for his part, marked July 4 – the 250th Independence Day of the United States – as the day when the new plane will lead a giant plane over the skies of Washington.

The Air Force even announced that the plane is “safe, secure and equipped with the most advanced technologies needed to meet the requirements of the presidential mission.” To train the pilots and maintenance crews on the new aircraft, a similar aircraft was leased last year, with some of the training tasks also involving the purchase of an aircraft flown by Lufthansa.

Despite the thorough dismantling of the plane’s contents for security purposes, the luxurious interior design that characterized the Qatari royal family was returned to its place and will remain almost unchanged. Huge leather seats, plush couches and even tree-like bookcases will serve the president and his entourage. In this regard, The Air Force said yesterday that it preferred operational readiness over aesthetics.

The only visual changes included the removal of the Arabic-language exit signs and contemporary Qatari artwork, replacing them with United States presidential emblems. Trump, who did not interfere in the interior design, did choose the exterior color scheme of the plane – red, white and blue. At the ceremony that took place, Trump said that the new exterior colors are “to his taste”.

The receipt of the plane against the background of the political storm

The Qatari plane will replace the 747-2 military plane that served the American presidents for more than 30 years. The receipt of the plane was accompanied by much criticism and political turmoil in the United States. Now, the new plane was inaugurated amid allegations of conflict of interest and security risk, due to its receipt from a foreign country.

Last year, Trump rejected the claims in a post he published on Truth Social: “Why should our military, and our taxpayers, be forced to pay hundreds of millions of dollars when they can get it for free from a country that wants to reward us for a good job. Only a fool would not accept this gift on behalf of our country.”
