The president caused an uproar online with a mysterious photo he posted on his Truth social network account
The President of the United States published Donald Trump published yesterday, on the eve of Father’s Day, a photo of a young woman with the caption “Great daughter. The honor is mine!!”. But the surfers soon noticed a small problem – the woman in the picture is not his daughter at all, and the web began to storm.
The confusing post immediately sparked a new wave of questions about the mental state of the 80-year-old president. Some netizens wondered why he posted a picture of a young woman on his private account, and some were sure he got confused and thought it was an old picture of one of his daughters, Tiffany or Ivanka. The White House declined to respond to reporters’ inquiries.
“He must think it’s Tiffany. The US should have a family meeting with Grandpa,” mocked Canadian podcaster Chris LaBossiere. The president’s post received tens of millions of exposures and hundreds of thousands of comments and references.
Net surfers identified the woman as Margo Katsmitidis, wife of billionaire and businessman John Katsmitidis. The couple is considered close to Trump, and their daughter Andrea serves as the chair of the Republican Party in Manhattan.
Andrea herself responded to Trump’s post, thanking the president on the X Network. “Thank you, Mr. President! Thank you for inviting me to your birthday party. It was an amazing gesture, filled with so much American pride. And thank you for everything you do for America!” she wrote
This is just the latest puzzling tweet by the president, who often posts bizarre and undeciphered content on his account on the Truth social network. An analysis by the “Daily Beast” found that Trump published no less than 861 posts last month. More than one post per hour throughout the day.
