Rijeka high school students received free city transportation in the summer as well

– Since the beginning of the mandate, we have been trying to expand the circle of citizens to whom we provide free public transportation. After pensioners, people over 65 and the unemployed over 60, we have now extended this right to high school students during the summer months. This is especially important for students who do professional practice in Rijeka during the summer, because city transport will now be free for them throughout the year – the mayor of the city Iva Rinčić pointed out on that occasion.

According to estimates, around 160 thousand euros will be allocated from the city budget to finance the free transportation of high school students during July and August. High school students who have a ticket for July već buyers can obtain a refund at the point of sale at Jelačićevo trg 3, upon presentation of the RCC card.

Everyone who had a 100 percent subsidy until June 30, retains that right until August 31 and does not have to come to the point of sale. It is enough to extend the ticket through the web store or at the kiosk. Although the ticket is free, it needs to be extended by the tenth date of the month.

Pupils who attend school in Opatija or Bakr, and for whom the City of Rijeka and Primorje-Gorski Kotar County provided free transportation together, or who did not have a bus ticket until now, can submit a request for free transportation within the first city transportation zone during July and August via the web store or come to the point of sale to make a change, the city administration reported.
