The closed session of the CC has ended, the investigation continues in the open session

The closed session of the Constitutional Court, which continued from 11 o’clock in the morning, ended, the High Court continues the investigation in an open session.

Now the CC is examining the envelopes submitted by the Central Electoral Commission. Aram Orbelyan, the lawyer of the “Prosperous Armenia” party, petitioned the court to subject them to an expert examination in order to clarify transparency. Orbelyan claimed that in some precincts the envelopes were so transparent that the naked eye could see the voter’s choice.

For the fifth day, the Constitutional Court continues examining the applications of 7 political forces disputing the results of the June 7 parliamentary elections. Today, the CC examined the issues related to the secret lists in a closed session.

The decision on the applications will be made by the Constitutional Court on July 4 at the latest.

According to the Law on the Constitutional Court, the High Court must either leave the election results unchanged, i.e., the decision of the Central Election Commission regarding those results, or invalidate it and make three main decisions: “invalidate the election results”, “invalidate and establish the order of distribution of mandates”, “designate a second round of elections”.

The applications of 7 political forces were published on the official website of the Constitutional Court.
