Petróleos de Venezuela restores fuel supply in La Guaira after the earthquakes

The state company Petróleos de Venezuela (PDVSA) has reported the restoration of fuel supply in the Guaira region, in the north of the country and the most affected by the earthquakes, which have left almost 2,600 dead to date, and has announced the reactivation of four service stations.

The vice president of Commerce and National Supply of the oil company, Juan Carlos Díaz, has indicated that in total there are eight fuel dispatch points that are currently active and provide regular service, “guaranteeing safe supply to users” in the area.

The measure, he indicated, has been taken after an audit that has made it possible to verify the structural stability of the supply centers, according to information collected by the newspaper ‘El Universal’, which has pointed out that this progress is the result of the execution of the inspection and evaluation plan for energy infrastructures.

In this sense, the company has confirmed that the Catia La Mar distribution plant operates completely normally and serves as a fundamental strategic node for timely dispatch to the different coastal sectors.

Furthermore, he stressed that “this regular flow has been consolidated thanks to the corrective maintenance work and the progressive work carried out by the technical crews to completely eliminate the operational effects detected at the points of direct attention to the public.

Likewise, he specified that the coordinated priority channel for land transportation has been key to maintaining “stable inventories and expediting the delivery of essential supplies.”
