In Poland, a Russian activist couple was sentenced to prison for spying for Moscow

The Polish court sentenced one of the Russian opposition activists to 7 years and his wife to 3 years in prison for spying for Moscow and delivering parcels containing explosive materials.

According to court documents obtained by AFP, Russian citizen Igor Rogov, a former anti-Kremlin activist, spied for Russia’s FSB, gathering information on Russian opposition figures and their support organizations.

Prosecutors also said Rogov, along with two Ukrainians and another Russian, arranged the transfer of a parcel containing explosives in July 2024, which was later seized by Polish security services.

Since 2017, Rogov has been working with the organization of the late Kremlin critic Alexei Navalny, and later joined the opposition group “Open Russia” of Mikhail Khodorkovsky. According to Polish media, Rogov even appeared in court holding a banner with slogans against Russian President Vladimir Putin.
