Attacks intensify in the Middle East: the US destroyed 140 military targets and Iran launched missiles against four countries

After Iran’s Revolutionary Guard attacked another oil tanker in the Strait of Hormuz, Iran and the United States they braided this Saturday and Sunday in new cross attacks in another escalation of tension in the Middle East. Washington acted against “140 military targets” in response to the attack on the ship, and then Tehran launched missiles and drones against Jordan, Qatar, Kuwait and Bahrain.

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard said in a statement that it attacked “with several ballistic missiles” key military infrastructure and facilities at the US Prince Hassan air base, located in Jordanwhich caused the “destruction” of its command and control center, as well as the MQ9 drone hangars, according to the Tasnim agency, linked to the body.

The text indicates that the attack took place after the US, “imposing its will on the government of the Kingdom of Oman”, caused on Saturday night “several vessels to create a illegal route south of the Strait of Hormuz, which was stopped by the forceful response of the Iranian Navy.

The Revolutionary Guard also reported attacks in Qatar with missiles against the American Al-Udeid air base, whose combat aircraft maintenance and repair center and command center of this garrison were destroyed.

The Army of the Islamic Republic also claimed an offensive with “destructive drones” against the Patriot anti-missile system in Kuwaitas well as against an ammunition depot and a radar station of the US forces in the same country.

In another wave of drone attacks, Iran attacked the US military’s communications system and radar station in Bahrain.

The Qatari state news agency previously said that its armed forces had repelled a missile attack, without confirming the source, while Bahrain’s Interior Ministry asked its citizens to go to the nearest safe place after alarms were activated in the territory.

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard said in a statement that the attacks come after the US “launched an airstrike against several coastal bases and telecommunications antennas on the southern coast” of Iran. Iranian media reported earlier this Sunday that explosions occurred in various parts of the country, without releasing details about victims or damage.

The US Central Command (Centcom) previously reported the start of a new round of attacks against Iran in response to Tehran’s bombing of a Cyprus-flagged container ship transiting Hormuzwith one crew member missing.

“Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps forces” brazenly attacked the M/V GFS Galaxy, a Cyprus-flagged container ship transiting the Strait of Hormuz. One civilian crew member is missing and the vessel is unable to continue the voyage due to a fire on board and significant damage to the engine room,” Central Command said.

“Iran was given yet another opportunity to demonstrate its adherence to the Memorandum of Understanding after being held responsible for previous attacks on commercial vessels, but it has failed again,” the official US statement continued.

And he concluded: “In response, The United States is imposing a high cost by continuing to degrade Iran’s ability to attack civilian sailors and commercial vessels freely transiting the strait. “The attacks are being carried out by order of the Commander in Chief.”

The president of Parliament and chief negotiator of Iran, Mohamad Baqer Qalibaf, warned the United States on Sunday that “the era of unilateral agreements is over”, after the intensification of cross attacks between both countries during the night.

“The era of unilateral agreements is over. We told them: keep your word or pay the price. Reality is knocking at the door“Qalibaf wrote in a publication on

The two countries signed an agreement that day to end the war, unblock the Strait of Hormuz and open negotiations on the Iranian nuclear program, but US President Donald Trump recently terminated the agreement, after the resumption of bombings in the Middle East.
