A meeting between Vladimir Putin and the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko took place in Novo-Ogaryovo, the suburban residence of the Russian President, RIA Novosti reports.
Putin announced the successful development of trade and economic cooperation with Belarus. He noted that trade turnover reached almost 52 billion dollars last year and continues to grow.
Moreover, the countries cooperate not only in traditional fields, but also in the field of high technologies, the president noted.
“The most important thing, in my opinion, the most fundamental, is that we cooperate both in traditional fields, and in today’s especially important fields, in the field of high technologies,” the Russian president emphasized.
The President of Belarus arrived in Russia on Thursday. On Friday, he held talks with Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
