Foreign currency reserves of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan “reached the historical maximum”

The foreign currency reserves of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan increased by 1.5 billion dollars in August and reached a historical maximum of 15.3 billion dollars, the bank’s statement said.

According to the report, last month the bank made an intervention of 1.5 billion dollars to buy foreign currency, “Interfax” reports.

As a result, in January-August of this year, the foreign currency reserves of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan increased by 3.8 billion dollars or 33 percent.

The bank emphasized that further actions in the foreign exchange market will be carried out based on demand and supply.
