Russia responds to accusations of hybrid war: “We are quelling a direct threat”

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Sergei Lavrov, has responded to the renewed accusations of hybrid war that several European countries have been launching recently by ensuring that what they are doing is “suffocating” a possible “direct threat.”

“If it refers to the destruction of the infrastructure that the Nazi regime is using, with the support of the West, to wage war against Russia, then we are resorting to brute force to quell a direct threat against us,” the Russian Foreign Minister responded when asked about this matter.

Lavrov has accused Europe of waging war against Russia and recalled that there are even some countries that have recognized that their weapons are being used to attack Russian territory, during a conversation this Tuesday with the media on the sidelines of a global political forum held in Moscow.

“Do you mean when we destroyed the drones and missiles that the United Kingdom and continental Europe supply to Ukraine? If you admit that they shoot at us with their weapons – call it what you want – I have no doubt that this is a war that Europe is waging against us,” said the Russian Foreign Minister.

In recent weeks, several European countries, including the EU, but especially those closest to Moscow, have been accusing Russia of a renewed hybrid war campaign – sabotage, computer attacks, migratory pressure – to call into question the unity of Europe’s support for Ukraine.

For its part, the Kremlin has warned that it is nothing more than a “deliberate exaggeration” by European governments to justify to their own citizens the great expenditure on military spending and support for Ukraine.
