Erdogan moves up a gear: the military alliance with Pakistan and Saudi Arabia has been passed for approval

The document, the details of which were published on the “Turkey Today” website and also reported by Reuters, details an extensive military cooperation mechanism, which includes mutual aid, intelligence transfer, supply of weapons and joint development of security technologies.

According to the articles of the agreement, the countries undertake to provide each other with logistical assistance that includes weapons, ammunition and military equipment, and to share sensitive intelligence information. It was determined that classified information that will be transferred between the countries will not be given to a third country without permission. The agreement also regulates joint military exercises, training forces and improving operational readiness to deal with threats.

Military and industrial cooperation

Another key area is the defense industry. The three countries will promote joint development and production of weapons systems, technological research and innovative projects in the fields of security. The cooperation is aimed at strengthening their military capabilities and deepening the coordination between their defense industries.

For the purpose of implementing the agreement, a permanent framework will be established that includes a strategic committee with the participation of the foreign and defense ministers of the countries. The key decisions will be made in coordination, and any addition of another country to the alliance will require the consent of the three founding companies. The agreement is not limited in time, but after ten years from its entry into force, any country may withdraw from it through a prior diplomatic notice.
