Erdogan: Who is Borel to assess Russian-Turkish relations?

The president of Turkey, which aspires to join the European Union, has stated that it is not the head of diplomacy of the European bloc that should decide the relations between Moscow and Ankara. In this way, Recep Erdogan responded to Joseph Borel’s call to join the sanctions against Russia.

“I don’t see Borel as an interlocutor. Our Mevlut Bey can be at the level of communicating with him. The statement is not cute. Borel cannot decide and formulate our relations with Russia. He has neither the qualifications nor the ability to make such decisions. Who is he to evaluate our relations with Russia within the framework of sanctions?” Turkish media quoted the words of President Erdogan.

Official Brussels has not yet responded to the Turkish president’s statements to the high-ranking official of the European Union.
