Russian theater director Dmitry Krymov, who moved to the US, is in the hospital after a fire in his New York apartment. The fire also injured his wife, who has already been discharged, and his son, who remains in the hospital.
The fire happened last week. According to preliminary information, the cause was a wiring fault. The 68-year-old director and his relatives suffered from fire, smoke and the effects of a fire, including carbon monoxide poisoning.
Krymov, a five-time Golden Mask Award winner, left Russia on February 25, 2022, the day after Russian troops invaded Ukraine. Initially, it was a planned business trip, but in April the director said that he was not going to return.
