The European Union (EU) strongly condemned the armed incident near Štrpce and called for an investigation into that act, EU spokesman Peter Stano announced today.
“The EU strongly condemns the armed attack on a child and a young man on Friday in Kosovo. It is important that the authorities fully investigate this terrible crime and that justice be served,” Stano wrote on Twitter and added that he wished the wounded a full recovery and a speedy recovery.

In the region near Štrpce in the village of Drajkovce in Kosovo, a young man (21) and a boy (11), both of Serbian nationality, were attacked with firearms on Friday.

After first aid at the Family Medicine Center in Štrpac, they were sent to the hospital in Gračanica for further treatment and are out of danger.

Director of the Office of the Government of Serbia for Kosovo and Metohija, Petar Petković, said today that Stefan Stojanović (11) is still in the hospital in Gračanica, while Miloš Stojanović (21) is recovering at home.

The Kosovo police announced that the suspect in the attack was identified and arrested, and that he is a man from Kosovo.

The attack was condemned by the Kosovo authorities, some embassies in Kosovo, as well as the mission of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe.
