FT: China’s ousted foreign minister had an affair with a TV host – Ulkomaat

The Wall Street Journal reported last week that the former foreign minister’s extramarital affair has led to an internal investigation by the Chinese Communist Party.

China’s with the sacked foreign minister Qin Gangilla had a relationship with a Chinese TV host Fu Xiaotianin with, The Financial Times -lehti (FT) said on Tuesday based on his insider sources.

Qin’s extramarital affair was also reported US newspaper The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) last week.

According to the WSJ, the affair had led to an internal investigation by the Chinese Communist Party. The investigation will determine whether Qin’s relationship endangered China’s national security.

FT:n according to reports, Fu and Qin first met in London around 2010, but did not begin a closer relationship until a decade later.

The website of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs says that Qin is married and has a son. An extramarital affair is not officially allowed for members of the Communist Party.

Fu works as a reporter for the state-owned Phoenix TV in Hong Kong.

Inside sources told the FT that Qin began to reduce his contact with Fu after his appointment as foreign minister.

After this, Fu started hinting on social media about her relationship with Qin.

According to the FT’s information, Fu had a child in the United States using a surrogate. Being a surrogate is prohibited in China.

According to FT’s sources, nothing has been heard from Fu since June.

China’s the manager Xi Jinpingin close aide Qin only served as foreign minister for a few months before disappearing from public view in June.

Qin was relieved of his position as foreign minister in July and replaced by a former foreign minister Wang Yi.

The Chinese Communist Party has not commented on Qin’s position.

According to the WSJ’s sources, Qin is cooperating with the country’s leadership in the investigation related to him.
