The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, stated today that the crisis caused by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine is affecting Serbia dramatically.At an extraordinary press conference in the Presidency building, Vučić said that from Friday until today, “the world has become different” and that “nothing is the same anymore”.

“Everything we lived until yesterday, thought and knew, suddenly no longer looks like what we know today,” said Vučić.

Vučić said that today there is “less than ever” understanding for Serbia’s position “anywhere in the world”.

“It is not a question of our principles and the correctness of our position, it is a question of almost unbelievable circumstances that have brought us into a very difficult situation,” he added.

Vučić stated that in the last two days he had talked with representatives of all “important countries”, including the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Layen, representatives of the USA, Germany and France.

“Serbia is facing enormous pressure in which it is not a question of whether you can endure as an individual or not. If you are faced with the fact that few people want to hear your arguments, which happened in the 1990s, then you can see how difficult it is for us,” he said. is he.

Vučić said that tonight’s address was “never harder” and “in the worst mood” in the last ten years, and announced that he would present the problems that the state is facing and the measures it will take in that regard.

The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, stated that the crisis in Ukraine contributed to “enormous” jumps in market prices, and added that teams were formed today to monitor the situation with oil.

“Today we formed 10 teams, the oil situation will be monitored and there will be people from the Ministry of Energy and Finance, a team for cereals and a team for all other food and necessities. The National Bank will lead a team to monitor all financial operations,” Vucic said at the conference. for journalists.

The price of gas “went to heaven” today, the president emphasized, because Germany started buying huge quantities of gas.

“Demand was at the level of 1.5 billion, and with transport, those are meaningless prices, impossible for the most developed countries,” he said, adding that Serbia currently has 123.6 million cubic meters of gas.

He said that the energy sector is not under such sanctions, but that it is “only the current” situation, since everything is changing “from hour to hour”.

“Now we have oil for more than two months, so we don’t get anything anywhere, so there is no need to be afraid, and in the next 15 days we want to fill all our warehouses to the brim, and that will cost around 115 million euros,” Vucic said.

Serbia will not send weapons to Ukraine, nor will it allow them to pass through its territory

Aleksandar Vučić also said that Serbia will not export weapons to the warring parties in Ukraine, as well as that it will not allow weapons intended for that war to pass through its territory.

At an extraordinary press conference in the building of the Presidency in Belgrade, Vučić said that Serbia would also control its arms dealers so that it would not end up in war-torn productions.

Vučić said that a team had been formed to collect humanitarian aid for Ukraine, a team for refugees, as well as a team for the reception of the wounded from that country.

“Let’s see if, like the European Union, we can issue all the necessary residence permits and citizenships at a higher speed and harmonize it according to EU principles,” he pointed out.

Vučić reiterated the conclusions from the session of the National Security Council and said that Serbia would keep the peace in the region, that it would be lenient and would not respond to “everyday provocations”.
