An Israeli citizen who “entered the country to kill a compatriot” has been detained in Malaysia.

Malaysian police said they detained an Israeli citizen who “entered the country to kill a fellow citizen.” During an inspection of his belongings, several weapons were found on the detainee, Malay mail reports.

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Hussein said the 36-year-old Israeli was detained two weeks after he arrived in Malaysia through Kuala Lumpur International Airport on March 12 at the Jelang Ampong Hotel.

“The detainee claims that he arrived in the country to kill another Israeli, but we do not believe this story,” the inspector general noted.

During the investigation, the Israeli claimed that he entered Malaysia using a French passport, but then showed investigators his Israeli passport.
