The information given by the USA to the Russians about the threat of terrorism was specific and reliable. Tracy

US Ambassador to Moscow Lynn Tracy once again emphasized that the US has a principled position in warning other countries about terrorist threats.

He published an official statement in which he once again expressed condolences in connection with the terrorist murder of many innocent people in the Crocus City Hall concert complex in Krasnogorsk a week ago.

“The United States unequivocally condemns terrorism in all its manifestations. We remember that Russia first contacted us after the September 11, 2001 attacks. Based on our country’s own experience in combating terrorism, we have adopted practices to warn others and pass on information when there is a threat to civilians. It is not only about our allies, but also about the countries with which we may have deep disagreements, including Russia,” said Lynn Tracy.

According to the ambassador, a number of Russian officials distorted and publicly rejected the usefulness of the information provided by the US to the Russian security services at the beginning of the month about the threat emanating from the “Islamic State” structure.

“The fact is that the written information we provided to the Russian side was specific, urgent and credible,” Tracy said in a statement.

The US ambassador emphasized that the United States has “for many years passed information about threats to the Russian authorities” and will continue to do so.

The American side will also continue to “respond to the requests of the Russian government to assist in the investigation of the terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall.”

Lynn Tracy also expressed hope that “the Russian people will be able to find peace and come to their senses in the next few days and weeks and regain their strength to get on with life.”
