The bodies of eight Chinese immigrants were found on a beach in southern Mexico

On Friday, the bodies of eight Chinese immigrants whose boat sank were found on a beach in southern Mexico, on one of the routes that immigrants take to reach the United States, the judiciary announced.

The Public Prosecution said in a statement that the bodies washed up on a beach in the Mexican state of Oaxaca, explaining that they were those of people from China, “seven women and one man.”

The bodies were found on Playa Vicente beach in San Francisco del Mar, located on a route often used by people trying to reach the United States.

Immigration facilities and centers are having difficulty accommodating the increasing numbers of immigrants, while the government is under growing pressure from the United States to address the problem.
