The Democratic Party meets in Frascati for the political training workshop

“House by house, street by street”, this is the name of the national laboratory of political participation and training organized by the PD from 12 to 14 April in Frascati (Centro Giovanni XXIII), in view of the European electoral campaign. The event was conceived and constructed by the Political Participation and Training department after having collected from the territories, in recent months, the main training needs felt by the party base. This will be the first in-person meeting, after two cycles of webinars thanks to which forms of participation and sharing of the proposals and campaigns launched by the PD starting from the Militant Summer were tested. Highly attended online meetings, followed by hundreds of individual militants and entire clubs in Italy and abroad.

“In different forms, a renewed ‘demand’ for politics has emerged very clearly, understood as a set of values, idealities, a sense of being together and sharing projects through a bottom-up mechanism that has not always been present”, explains Marwa Mahmoud, responsible for political training in the national secretariat of the PD. The idea of the two days in Frascati is to equip the territories with a ‘toolbox’, tools and skills to be used in the daily management of party life and even more so during electoral campaigns. The event is conceived as the start of a path of national participation and training, which, starting from the involvement of girls and boys under 35 from all the federations, builds a community of activists who during the electoral campaign for the European elections will work together with the thousands of PD militants, using innovative tools.

“A full immersion in which around 200 girls and boys from all over Italy will meet trainers, experts and political leaders and will put themselves to the test in the organization and management of an electoral campaign in all its aspects” concludes Marwa Mahmoud. The work, which will be behind closed doors, will begin today evening, Friday 12 April and will end on Sunday 14 April in the morning.
