Musk accuses Moraes of demanding that X violate Brazilian laws

“United States laws prevent X from participating in corruption that violates the laws of other countries, which is what Alexandre (de Moraes) is demanding we do,” wrote the billionaire.

Musk made the comment in response to a post from X’s Global Government Affairs account, in which it reported that the platform sent the United States House information about orders the platform received from Brazil’s STF to moderate content.

“AX Corp. was formally subpoenaed by the Judiciary Committee of the United States House of Representatives to provide information on the orders of the Federal Supreme Court of Brazil regarding content moderation,” the account reported.

“To comply with its obligations under U.S. law, X Corp. responded to the Committee”, he added, without giving further details about the contents of this communication to the American Legislature.

Last week, Musk had informed that the platform received a consultation from the United States House of Representatives about possible actions that were taken by bodies in Brazil that may have violated national legislation.

Over the weekend, the defense of X in Brazil sent Moraes a letter with the request that had been made by the United States Congress to have access to the court orders issued by him directed to X Corp, responsible for managing the platform.

The documents were included in the records of the digital militia investigation, in which Musk began to be investigated by order of Moraes.
