Iran's attack on Israel: Tehran will “not emerge unscathed”, warns Israeli army

Tehran is warned. The Israeli army said on Tuesday that Iran would “not emerge unscathed” from the unprecedented attack it launched Saturday evening against Israel in response to a strike on its consulate in Damascus. “We cannot remain idly faced with such aggression, Iran will not emerge unscathed” from its attack, declared army spokesperson Daniel Hagari, during a visit organized for the media on a base in southern Israel. “Firing 110 missiles directly at Israel will not go unpunished. We will respond when, where and how we choose,” he added.

The Israeli army showed a group of journalists one of the missiles intercepted during the attack and recovered in the Dead Sea, specifying that this type of device can carry an explosive charge of 500 kg. “Their role, their sole intention was to kill and destroy Israeli lives and Israel,” said another army spokesman, Peter Lerner. “If they had not been intercepted, the scale (of the damage) would have been immense,” added this spokesperson. “We were only talking about the nuclear threat from Iran. While at the same time, Iran constituted a conventional threat, in order to create a ring of fire around Israel,” Daniel Hagari also indicated.

350 drones and missiles

Overnight Saturday and Sunday, after months of growing tensions across the region, Iran for the first time launched a direct attack against Israel, in retaliation for a deadly strike on the Iranian consulate in Damascus, Syria, on April 1, attributed to Israel.
