Residents blocked the central part of Noyemberyan, the road leading to Georgia

At the moment, the central part of Noyemberyan, the road leading to Georgia, is closed. According to the interpretation of the residents, residents came here from all the villages that may become vulnerable as a result of demarcation.

They are residents of Voskepar and Baghanis, they are also from November. At this moment, the leader of the Diocese of Tavush is speaking, they express their displeasure both with the meeting that took place at the Deputy Prime Minister’s office yesterday, and with the border demarcation process.

The police are calling for an end to the rally, calling it illegal, and warning that otherwise they will take special measures to stop the illegal activities.

The situation has been tense since Friday, when Yerevan and Baku reported that they had “preliminarily agreed” to align some parts of the Tavush-Kazakh border with “the inter-republican border that existed at the time of the collapse of the Soviet Union.” Accordingly, the Armenian side will withdraw in the directions of Baghanis-Ayr, Ashagh and Askipara, Kheirimli and Ghezilhajili villages. There is a deadline for clarifying the coordinates, until May 15.
