Similar to the protest camps at Columbia University, other protests have erupted on campuses all over the United States, and now they have also reached Europe. In Germany, the police dispersed a protest that took place in front of the Bundestag, according to the Al Jazeera report. In France, pro-Palestinian students blocked the entrance to the Science Institute in Paris.
In the Pew Institute survey, published this week in light of the pro-Palestinian demonstrations in the US, only 29% of Americans said that our conflict should be high on the administration’s list of priorities. This is compared to 73% who asked that the prevention of terrorism in the US be a high priority, and 64% who want the prevention of smuggling Drugs will be a high priority, and 63% said that preventing the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction should be a high priority.
Also, maintaining the power gap, and preventing epidemics, and North Korea, and Iran, and containing Russia, and containing China, and preventing global warming, and dealing with artificial intelligence – all these and more are more important to Americans than the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
