TikTok star Umm Fahad killed in Baghdad for 'undermining public morals'

The Iraqi Interior Ministry has launched an investigation into the murder committed in eastern Baghdad on the night of April 27. Social media star Jufran Saouadi, known to her followers as Umm Fahad, was shot dead near her home.

The girl gained fame thanks to videos in which she dances to pop music in tight-fitting clothes. About a million people subscribed to her page on the TikTok social network.

The murder was captured on surveillance cameras. A motorcyclist in a black helmet who approached Dzhufran’s car shot the girl sitting behind the wheel and then disappeared.

Note that in 2023, Saouadi was sentenced to six months in prison for “immodest speech and publication of video material that undermines public morals.”
