According to Mirzoyan, Armenia is ready to temporarily host the endangered manuscripts in Gaza

Armenia is ready to temporarily host the manuscripts in the war zone of Israel and Hamas. RA Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan said this in an interview to “Al-Jazeera”.

“We have a world-renowned manuscript repository where we can temporarily host manuscripts if needed, move them out of the conflict zone and then return them when things settle down,” he noted.

Mirzoyan also stated that Yerevan is definitely against targeting the civilian population. “We found ourselves in a similar situation when around 100,000 Armenians had to leave their historical homeland in order to save the lives of their family members,” he emphasized, referring to the Armenians who left Nagorno-Karabakh after the attack of Azerbaijan in September 2023.

Mirzoyan also emphasized that Armenia supports the peaceful settlement of the conflict, as well as the solution of the long-standing conflict and the Palestinian issue on the basis of the “two-state” principle.

Armenia sent 29. 94 tons of humanitarian aid to the population of Gaza. The RA government provided food: canned goods, dry food, medicine: medical solutions, antibiotics. The agreement was reached during Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s visit to Egypt.

The situation in the Middle East escalated sharply on October 7, 2023, when Hamas militants from the Gaza Strip unexpectedly attacked peaceful Jewish settlements. As a result of those attacks, about 1,200 Israelis were killed and more than 250 Israelis were taken hostage.

According to the Ministry of Health of the Palestinian enclave, the number of Palestinians killed as a result of Israeli military operations in the Gaza Strip has exceeded 34,000, and the number of wounded has reached 75,000.

“Hamas” has been recognized as a terrorist organization by the USA and the EU. The Israeli government has announced that it will completely clear the Gaza Strip of Hamas terrorists. A large number of countries consider Israel’s retaliatory actions disproportionate.
