Leaflets in the eastern part of the city, messages and phone calls with instructions to the Palestinians. So the Israeli army is proceeding into the areas that need to be evacuated to Rafah ahead of the planned offensive on the southern part of the Gaza Strip. Evacuation order in Rafah, for who it’s worth

The evacuation order – we read – currently concerns only some of the eastern neighborhoods of Rafah, and not the entire city in southern Gaza. The IDF also publishes a map of the areas included. Spokesman Avichay Adraee announced that the Israeli army has asked residents in the neighborhoods of Al-Salam, Al-Jeneina, Tabet Ziraa and Al-Byouk to evacuate immediately to the ‘expanded humanitarian area’ of Al-Mawasi.”

“In line with what has been decided at the political level, the IDF calls on the population, which is under the control of Hamas, to temporarily evacuate from the eastern neighborhoods of Rafah towards the expanded humanitarian zone”, reads the statement reported by the Times of Israel where there is talk of “gradual progression”, “according to an assessment of the current situation”. The humanitarian zone in the al-Mawasi and Khan Younis areas includes field hospitals and tent cities for displaced people, according to the IDF.
