Republicans and Democrats criticize Biden: “Our partners will not be able to trust the United States”

Republican leaders in the US Congress: House Speaker Mike Johnson and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell condemned US President Joe Biden’s statements about a possible cutoff of military supplies to Israel. They accused Biden of violating guarantees of timely supplies of weapons to Israel.

“Israel’s very existence is in question, as the recent attack by Iran and its terrorist proxies shows. Such statements could embolden Israel’s enemies and undermine the faith with which our partners view us,” they wrote, also mentioning Ukraine.

Among Democrats, the reaction was mixed. Thus, New York Congressman Ritchie Torres expressed confidence that Biden is guided by electoral considerations. “The president should think about what is good for Israel and understand that the far left does not represent America,” he said, noting that by doing so the United States undermines its credibility as an ally.
