Adviser to Khamenei threatens to review Iran's nuclear doctrine

Adviser to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Kamal Kharazi said that Iran will have to change its nuclear doctrine if Israel poses a threat to the very existence of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

“We have not yet decided to develop nuclear weapons, but in the event of an existential threat, we will have no choice. If the Zionist regime attacks our nuclear facilities, our concept of deterrence will be changed,” he said.

Earlier, a senior representative of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, General Ahmad Hajtalab, who is responsible for issues related to nuclear development in the IRGC, spoke about the possibility of revising the nuclear doctrine due to the Israeli strike.

According to international experts, Iran is very close to possessing nuclear weapons, and will become a nuclear power in a fairly short time if the appropriate decision is made. However, only the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, can accept it.

Let us recall: in April 2024, Iran independently attacked Israel for the first time, firing hundreds of unmanned aerial vehicles, ballistic and cruise missiles. Almost all of them were destroyed. According to Western media reports, Israel responded with a demonstration attack without intentionally causing serious harm to the Iranians.
