It seems that Javier Millay is fulfilling all his dreams – to be a leader, and also a network star. Now he’s done it again when he took to singing a well-known rock anthem in the country. After the short performance he turned to talk about economics and read his book on the subject, but the audience seemed less connected to that part

Javier Millay, the president of Argentina, has long been more than just a politician. Back during his election campaign he became a rockstar, and yesterday he did it again. The president took the stage at an event to promote his new book “Capitalismo, socialismo y la trampa neoclásica”, or in Hebrew: Capitalism, socialism and the neoclassical trap, but it was the part where he started singing that became viral on the networks. Miley was dressed in a black leather jacket, befitting the rock star he is trying to be, and sang one of the most famous hits in Argentina – Panic show by the band La Renga.

“I wanted to do it because I wanted to sing,” Millay said before singing along with an amateur band that was at the event. After his appearance, the president gave a long lecture on economics from his 13th book. In his speech, the president resented socialism, defended monopolies, denied the existence of market failure and said that abortions are a “mechanism for killing populations.”

Miley Cher’s video has been viewed millions of times on social networks and was of course filmed from every possible angle. This is not the first time he has gone viral thanks to a bizarre event. At the end of December, the new president of Argentina arrived at the performance of his partner, actress Fatima Flores, and went on stage after it ended. The show itself was of less interest to the audience – but the kiss between the two was definitely successful produce headlines in the world

“I’m here to support Javier in everything he does. I like his ideas, I like what he does, he’s honest, he’s transparent, he says what he thinks,” said Santiago Roldan, a 20-year-old supermarket worker who attended Millay’s event Yesterday.

The launch of the book was supposed to be held at the International Book Fair of Argentina on May 12, but following an argument between the people of Maili and the people of the fair, it was decided to cancel the original event and the president had to hold an event “alone”. People who were in the hall claim that at the end of the economic conversation half of the guests had already left the hall, because apparently it is easier to hear him sing than to talk economics.

The event was quite similar to the ones Miley has held since entering the political arena in 2021: he calls them “recitals,” and he usually opens them by singing an a cappella song that excites the young. Political commentator Carlos Parra believes that Millay tends to “make plays” and emphasized that he will “always fuel the polarization, it is a regular part of the campaign. The communication in the government is the same as the communication he did in the campaign,” said Parra.
