Gia Lai plans the ‘roof’ of Kon Ka Kinh into an eco-tourism destination

According to the project, the total planned area for tourism is 1,086 hectares, arranged in the service – administrative subdivision and the ecological restoration subdivision.

The area will develop 5 tourist attractions including: Administrative Service Center, Bai Nai eco-resort site, Kon Ka Kinh eco-resort site, Suoi Ngoc ecological cultural experience site and Nha Dam ecological cultural experience site.

At the same time, the province plans 12 ecotourism routes with a total length of about 201 km, taking advantage of the existing system of patrol roads and trails.

To realize the goal, in the period 2026-2030, the province will prioritize investing nearly 299 billion VND to complete infrastructure such as patrol roads combined with tourism, parking lots, animal rescue centers and accommodation areas. It is expected that by 2030, the province will attract at least three investors, create jobs for about 400 workers and achieve the goal of 20% autonomy in forest protection funding.

With a long-term orientation until 2045, Kon Ka Kinh National Park strives to achieve a revenue of about 78 billion VND per year, expand two new tourist destinations and increase the level of autonomy in forest protection funding to 80%. Of the total investment capital of more than 539 billion VND, socialized sources play a key role with about 473 billion VND, the rest is mobilized from other legal capital sources.

In particular, the project emphasizes the principle of “development without sacrificing the environment”. All tourism activities must be closely associated with biodiversity conservation, not implemented in strictly protected zones. The province encourages low-emission tourism models, prioritizing the use of electric vehicles and environmentally friendly materials.

Kon Ka Kinh National Park has an area of ​​more than 42,000 hectares. With a peak of 1,748 m, this is known as the “roof” of Gia Lai province, possessing a diverse tropical forest ecosystem and many rare animal species such as the grey-shanked douc.
