The opening ceremony of Hue International Arts Festival Week 2024 on the evening of June 7 will be held at Kien Trung Palace, for the first time since the palace opened.
At the press conference organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the People’s Committee of Thua Thien Hue province on the afternoon of May 9, Mr. Nguyen Van Phuong, Chairman of the People’s Committee of Thua Thien Hue province, said that Hue Festival week 2024 will last from June 7 to 12.
On the opening art night, there will be the support of modern technology including laser projection, led matrix, hologram, 3D mapping with performances showing that Hue City is “Brightening the heritage region”, developing sustainably and appreciating respect nature.
French Ambassador to Vietnam Olivier Brochet, representative of the unit supporting the light festival, said that with sound and light installations, visitors will enjoy a modern digital technology art exhibition with a unique feeling. like “traveling in a dream”.

During 6 days, Hue City will organize 8 series of events. The first is the “Cultural Colors” street festival on the afternoons of June 8 and 10. Here, music and dance performances, street variety shows, processions and folk performances, and street festivals will take place with cultural characteristics of regions and some countries around the world.
In the evening of June 8-11, at the community stage at Hue National University Square and 3/2 Park, there will be performances by 12 troupes and art groups from 7 countries such as France and Spain. , Japan, Canada, Korea, China.
The music program “Dialogue with Trinh Cong Son – Love Found” will be held at 6:00 p.m. on June 9 at Dien Kien Trung stage with the participation of singers Cam Van, Tran Manh Tuan, Quang Dung, Ha Tran, Duc Tuan, Ngoc Khue, Viet Thu, An Tran, Nguyen Vinh Ha Phuong.
In addition, a number of festivals are also held on this occasion such as the light festival, beer festival, vegetarian food festival, lantern festival, and “Tam Giang water wave” festival. Hue Festival Week 2024 will close with an art program at 8:00 p.m. on June 12.
Leaders of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs evaluate Hue Festival as an opportunity to promote cultural exchange and convergence with countries around the world. The programs during the festival week promote and honor Hue culture and Vietnamese culture, and are also an opportunity to absorb the quintessence of human culture.
Kien Trung Palace is located in the Imperial Citadel, one of 5 important works on the Shinto axis during the Nguyen Dynasty. The palace was built in 1921 and completed in 1923 under the reign of King Khai Dinh. In 1947, due to the war, the building collapsed completely, leaving only the foundation. The monument was renovated in February 2019 and opened to visitors in February this year.
