On social networks, these influencers are changing the way we look at disability

France may have laws in favor of people with disabilities, but this subject still severely lacks visibility, Paralympic Games year or not. In this context, directly concerned influencers, even caregivers, are making themselves heard on social networks. Among them, Romain Guérineau, alias @roro_le_costaud, on Instagram, quadriplegic following a skiing accident in 2012.

“I created my Insta account in 2018 to talk about disabled sports and find funding for my wheelchair. At the time, I was considering doing the Paralympics. I remained a high-level athlete for two years but it didn’t suit me. No regrets. My posts found their audience and little by little I got into the game,” says this Touraine firefighter, call center operator, also content creator.
