Champions League: Star striker Mbappé in the Real squad for Bayern after a head wound

Real Madrid can begin its necessary comeback in the Champions League second leg against FC Bayern based on the current situation with star striker Kylian Mbappé. The French national soccer player is part of the 23-player squad that the Spanish top club published before the flight to Munich in the morning.

The 27-year-old is fundamentally important for the Royals in the quarter-final second leg on Wednesday (9 p.m./DAZN) at the Allianz Arena. In the lost first leg a week ago in Madrid, he scored the goal to make it 1-2, which gave the premier class record winner hope of reaching the semi-finals. Mbappé was the only Real professional who was able to overcome Bayern captain Manuel Neuer, who was outstanding at the Bernabéu Stadium.

Mbappé suffered a bloody wound to his head in Real’s 1-1 draw with Girona FC in the Spanish league last weekend. But he was able to train again on Monday. He had a large plaster on his right eyebrow, which had been stitched.

Tchouameni suspended – Courtois still injured

Aurélien Tchouaméni is not part of Real’s squad for the quarter-final second leg. The 26-year-old Frenchman received his third yellow card in the current competition in Madrid and is suspended in Munich. He is likely to be replaced in the starting line-up by former Dortmund player Jude Bellingham, who came on as a substitute in the first leg and then provided a lot of offensive pressure. In Munich, too, Real will once again have to make do without their injured number one in goal, Thibaut Courtois.
