Russian Rosatom: Only 20 employees remain in the Iranian nuclear plant Bushehr

Alexei Likhachev, head of the Russian nuclear energy company Rosatom, said on Tuesday that only 20 employees remain at the Iranian Bushehr nuclear plant, after the company announced on Monday the start of the final stage of evacuation operations.

Rosatom, which is building two new units at the station site, has withdrawn hundreds of employees since the United States and Israel launched war on Iran on February 28.

Likhachev stated that the company must be “fully prepared” to resume construction of the second and third units when conditions permit, and that this matter remains its top priority.
He added that the last group of evacuated employees, numbering 108, is expected to cross the border from Iran into Armenia on Tuesday evening.
