Netanyahu believes the war is “not over yet”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned this Sunday that the war “is not over” despite the United States’ announcement of sending a negotiating delegation to Pakistan to meet with representatives of Iran on Monday.

“At any moment there can be new events. Who knows what will happen to us tomorrow, or the day after tomorrow?” he said during a meeting with the Argentine president, Javier Milei, according to the Israeli press.

Netanyahu has stressed that the United States and Israel “will achieve their objectives and give more hope to the free peoples of the world.”

Netanyahu and Milei have hugged each other profusely and joked about the similarity in pronunciation between Milei’s name, Javier, and the Hebrew word ‘chaver’, friend. They then photographed themselves with the typical Milei pose with their thumbs up.

During Milei’s visit, the signing of the so-called Isaac Accords is expected to be formalized, which seek to strengthen ties between Israel and Latin America. In addition, the launch of a direct route between Israel and Argentina for the Israeli airline El Al will be announced starting in December this year.

The third major initiative is the signing of an anti-terrorism and counter-extremism agreement that includes training for security forces, exchange of information and the creation of a joint group with powers in this area.

The first stop on Milei’s trip, which will end on Tuesday, was the Wailing Wall, the most sacred place in Judaism, where Milei cried with emotion. These images have been widely criticized in Argentina, particularly for its relentless cuts that have reduced public services such as healthcare and pensions.

It is Milei’s third visit to Israel in his two-year term as president of Argentina. Milei himself has begun the process of converting to Judaism.
