The United States Navy has prevented the navigation of some 27 ships since the beginning of the naval blockade of the coasts of Iranwhich Washington maintains in the midst of negotiations for an agreement to end the war with Tehran, the US Central Command (Centcom) reported this Monday.

More than 10,000 US military personnel, 12 ships and 100 aircraft patrol the waters near Iran to ensure that no vessels enter and leave Iranian ports, according to Centcom figures.

Trump has maintained the naval blockade of Iran even though Tehran announced last week that it would reopen the passage in response to a US-brokered ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon, although a day later it reported that it would close it again due to Washington’s siege.

The Republican accused Iran the day before of violating the ceasefire by deciding to shoot “against a French ship and a United Kingdom cargo ship” in the strait and renewed his threats to destroy bridges and power plants if an agreement was not reached.
