Platform combining artificial intelligence – award-winning AI game for students

In the first season, AI Young Guru, a competition organized by FPT to bring artificial intelligence closer to high school and vocational school students, gathered more than 26,000 contestants with 15,000 teams from 1,800 schools in 34 provinces. The competition includes Popularity, Ideas, Arena and Real Battle rounds.

After more than three months, the competition entered the Real Battle round with 81 contestants divided into 8 competing teams, broadcast on the evening of May 3. The teams took turns presenting, demoing their products, asking and answering questions directly with the judges, and giving feedback to other competing teams. This is the comprehensive assessment stage, requiring candidates to not only master ideas but also demonstrate the ability to deploy, reason and handle situations in a direct competitive environment.

Despite taking the final test and encountering some technical problems, Heritage Guessr of the Neural Ninjas team from Dewey Middle and High School (Hanoi) overcame the arising situation to win the overall First Prize. According to the judges, the team’s handling ability reflects the real-life competition environment, where technological bravery and problem-solving thinking are emphasized.

Heritage Guessr is a learning game that applies AI and virtual reality (VR), helping users explore Vietnamese cultural heritage in the form of “learning through play”. Players will experience virtual space, interact with AI, then respond to simulated locations. The AI ​​system evaluates, scores and personalizes the learning experience. The platform also has a practice mode and learning materials to increase interaction in culture, history, and geography subjects.

Meanwhile, the second prize went to team CNH – Team from FPT PolySchool Ba Ria – Vung Tau (HCMC) with the education management system project CNH Education. The third prize includes the AI ​​system that supports learning Vietnamese sign language SignPath of the HAM team of Foreign Language High School for Gifted Students (Hanoi) and Vo Nguyen Giap High School for Gifted Students (Quang Tri); and AI Agent application to train communication for SpeakMate students from the Next Gents competition team of Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted (Gia Lai).

AI Young Guru season 1 also awarded consolation prizes to four teams from Thach That High School (Hanoi), Nguyen Cong Tru High School (HCMC), FPT Hanoi High School (Hanoi) and Phu Cat High School No. 1 (Gia Lai).

Dr. Le Truong Tung, Chairman of the FPT University Council, said that although it was implemented in a short time of about 120 days, the contest attracted a large participation of competing teams. According to him, AI Young Guru can be seen as a process that helps students approach artificial intelligence in a proactive way. “The important thing is not how many specific tools they learn, but understanding how to approach, think and apply AI to the problems around them,” he said. “The product is part, but more important is the experience and approach to the problem.”

AI Young Guru is considered a suitable competition in the context of artificial intelligence creeping into many aspects of life. Besides helping contestants think about solving problems with AI from an early stage, as well as fostering professional skills such as Prompt Engineering and AI-assisted Coding to form the capacity of a future digital worker, the contest also raises awareness of identity protection and online fraud prevention.
